An exhibition based on the "Alpenweiter Architekturpreis fĂŒr nachhaltiges Sanieren und Bauen" [Alpine-wide architecture prize for sustainable renovation and construction], advertised by Bundesamt fĂŒr Raumentwicklung der Schweiz and Amt fĂŒr Umwelt Liechtenstein; kindly supported by the International Commission for the Protection of the Alps CIPRA.

The exhibition shows various aspects of sustainable renovation and construction: on one side, 30 boards hanging in the room convey the expert viewpoint. The other side shows the perspective of nature with regard to the built and renovated residential buildings, industrial buildings, leisure facilities, and communal buildings. On a log, visitors can see and touch 15 building materials. They stand for the sensuality and sustainability of the projects. The five members of the competition's jury explain the various aspects of sustainable construction in the Alps in brief videos.

From roughly 400 renovation and construction projects entered, an international jury selected the 30 best and most climate-friendly ones. These buildings can be seen in a traveling exhibition throughout the Alps.
The 30 selected buildings include projects from South Tyrol, North Tyrol, and Trentino. The prize was awarded on August 29 on occasion of the opening at Alpines Museum der Schweiz in Berne. After having been held in Berne and Vaduz, the exhibition will be brought to Merano.
